With the conclusion of in-person screenings for the 31st edition of SUNCINE, the Festival's program will remain accessible throughout Spain until November 23 via the SUNCINE APP, CaixaForum+, 3CAT, and La Xarxa platforms.
The world’s best environmental cinema returns to inspire action for the planet. The 31st edition of SUNCINE begins—more than just cinema.
SUNCINE presents a new section on water scarcity and drought, along with major national and international premieres.
Attendees will also include renowned figures such as French filmmaker, writer, activist, and poet Cyril Dion. Eight international films and five Spanish films will contend for the prestigious Sol de Oro in the official competition.
The SUNCINE International Environmental Film Festival is proud to announce the selected films in competition for its sections: Official, Ñ Official, Miradas, and Monarca, which form the core of its 31st edition, to be held from November 1 to 23, 2024.
The environmental film exhibition will travel to some twenty countries in Latin America and Equatorial Guinea, through the Spanish Cooperation Cultural Centres and the Spanish embassies in Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador.
‘SUNCINE has been the first film festival to support the platform, because we understand that it is a nation-building initiative and, like SUNCINE, we want to promote Catalan audiovisual production and contribute to its dissemination in the country and beyond,’ says Claudio Lauria, President and Founder of SUNCINE.
The feature-length documentaries will be available from 27 June on a new channel on the platform created as a result of the collaboration between CaixaForum+ and the SUNCINE International Environmental Film Festival.
‘Where are we at, in terms of sustainability, so that we can really talk about a sustainable film industry, and not just sustainable production?’
