Cyril Dion: Special Golden Sun

Cyril Dion is known for his optimistic and solution-oriented approach, always seeking to showcase examples of positive change instead of focusing solely on environmental problems.

A French filmmaker, writer, activist, and poet, he was born on July 23, 1978, in Poissy, France. Known for his focus on issues related to ecology and sustainability, Dion has dedicated much of his career to advocating for the environment and social justice through art and activism.

He began his career as an activist working in various non-governmental organizations and co-founded the Colibris movement along with farmer and philosopher Pierre Rabhi, a network that promotes a shift toward a more environmentally respectful lifestyle.

His first major success as a filmmaker was Demain (Tomorrow), a documentary co-directed with Mélanie Laurent in 2015, which explores practical solutions to address the ecological and social challenges facing the world. The documentary won the César Award for Best Documentary* in 2016, establishing Dion as an influential voice in environmental cinema.

In addition to his cinematic work, Cyril Dion is the author of several books, both novels and essays, that explore the intersection between humanity and the environment. Among his best-known works are Imago (2017), a novel that deals with political and ecological issues, and Petit manuel de résistance contemporaine (2018), an essay that explores how citizens can resist current crises.

Throughout his career, Cyril Dion has participated in numerous collaborative projects and has been a frequent speaker at international conferences and events on ecology, standing out as one of the key figures in contemporary environmental activism in Europe.
